27 – 28 August, a forum for experts and enthusiasts of the gastronomic sector took place in Kaliningrad as part of the series of conferences "Gastronomic Showcase of Russia". Participants from all over Russia gathered at the Forum to discuss further development of a local product in regions. Gelibterman L.V., President of the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy (Moscow), and Isaev A., founder of Kaliningrad Street Food, acted as lecturers.
The All-Russian Forum for Promotion of Regional Peculiarities of the Gastronomic Culture of People of Russia 2020 was held within framework of the cycle of conferences on promotion of gastronomic culture of people of the Russian Federation "Gastronomic Showcase of Russia" with support of the "Presidential Grants Fund". The importance of using local products in regional cuisine was discussed during the meeting. Towards the end of the first day, a round table was held on topic of "Festival and vendor: how to harmoniously introduce a vendor into festival format and to individual establishments”. More than 50 experts from all over the country shared their views, including Viktor Belyaev, President of the National Association of Russian Culinary Specialists and Ex-Chef of the Kremlin, Igor Kekhter, a history connoisseur, restaurateur, founder of the Museum of National Russian Drinks.
The festival again ended with the selection of the best street food project in Russia. On the jury board Gelibterman L.V., Vice President of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia (FRiO) for relations with international organizations and gastronomic tourism and member of the expert council on gastronomic tourism of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), together with Anastasia Kolesnikova, creator of projects Local Food and GastroMBA, as well as Alesandr Sidorov, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of IZ.RU.
