On January 17, the President of the ICWAG had a business visit to Ryazan. Leonid Gelibterman held a meeting at the Ministry of culture and tourism of the Ryazan region and took part in the meeting of the Ryazan branch of the Russian National Culinary Association of Russia.
The meeting at the Ministry of culture and tourism was related to the plans to prepare the Second International Forum of ancient cities in Ryazan in August 2019. The First International Forum of ancient cities in Ryazan in 2018, which brought together more than 48 cities of Russia and 12 countries, caused a wide positive public response. The Forum business programme on gastronomy tourism, organized by the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy together with a tour operator OblakaTravel, was highly appreciated by the Russian and international professional community, as well as the public of the Ryazan region. The government of the Ryazan region invited the ICWAG and its partners to develop a gastronomic part of the forum in 2019.
The meeting also discussed the participation of the Ryazan region in the UNWTO General Assembly in St. Petersburg in autumn 2019 and in the WACS World Congress in St. Petersburg in 2020.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister of culture and tourism of the Ryazan region Vitaly Popov on behalf of the Governor of the region Nikolai Lyubimov presented the honorary Badge of the Governor of the Ryazan region "240 years of the Ryazan Province" to the President of the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy as a special award for his personal contribution to the promotion of the region, its gastronomy culture and traditions at the Russian and international level.
