Festival of taste in Yerevan. The International gastronomic festival Yerevan FoodFest was held in Armenia


From 1 to 6 November the Second International gastronomic festival Yerevan FoodFest was held in the capital of Armenia. Leonid Gelibterman made a speech at the Forum on gastronomy tourism in frames of the festival.

During the Forum, which was held on November 2 and dedicated to the presentation of the gastronomic potential of Armenia, the President of the ICWAG made a report on the prospects of gastronomy tourism in the host country. In his speech, Leonid Gelibterman gave analytical information about the statistics of the world tourism market and shared valuable practical experience in the creation and development of objects of gastronomy tourism in the regions of Russia.


The President of the ICWAG noted that "Armenia has all the necessary conditions to become one of the international leaders of gastrotourism. Armenia has also absolutely all the prerequisites for gastronomy tourism to become the engine of socio-economic development of the country."

During his visit to Yerevan Leonid Gelibterman acted as an expert at a special lecture "Wine tourism and international experience" with the report "World experience of wine tourism and prospects of Armenia", held a round table with Armenian wine producers, took part in a meeting with Yerevan restaurateurs and gave several interviews to leading Armenian media.


Gastronomic Festival, held in the capital of Armenia for the second time, has become more numerous in attendance and more intense in the business program. This year, its main themes were the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan, as well as the development of urban gastronomic culture. In frames of the festival "dinners by four hands", workshops, and other events were held. According to Anna Mazmanyan, the head and founder of Yerevan FoodFest, "the Second International festival Yerevan FoodFest provides a new opportunity for participants and guests to get acquainted with the whole range of taste of traditional Armenian cuisine in a completely new format, as well as to outline the prospects for the development of gastrotourism in Armenia."
