President of the International Centre of Wine and Gastronomy visited Tokyo and Kyoto in frames of preparation to the Russian Tourism Gastronomy Week in Japan.
On 12th of March, the President of the ICWAG arrived to Japan for the set of negotiations regarding the organization of the Russian Tourism Gastronomy Week. Intensive programme of the Chairman of the project Organizing Committee included meetings with Russian and Japanese officials.
During his business trip Leonid Gelibterman held negotiations with D.A. Birichevskiy, minister-counselor of Russian Embassy in Japan, with heads of Japan Tourism Agency (JTA), Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), All Japan Food Association (AJFA), and with Mr. Nakamura, Executive director of Japan Travel and Tourism Association (JTTA), representatives of Japanese service industry.
In the course of negotiations, the agreements for all-around cooperation of Russian and Japanese sides were achieved, among them the period of the event in Tokyo was appointed from November, 27 to December, 2 of 2018.
Memorandum of cooperation for organization of the events such as the Tourism Gastronomy Weeks was signed on 21 of September 2017 in Tokyo by the heads of Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) and Federal Agency of Tourism (Rostourism). Following the Memorandum the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy (ICWAG) is stated as an official implementer of the organization of the Week from the Russian side. This Memorandum is a part of the extended intergovernmental programme of the Year of Japan in Russia, and the Year of Russia in Japan in 2018-2019.
