The exhibition of Irish drinks in Moscow


On the 08th of June at the Embassy of Ireland the presentation of the drinks of the «emerald isle» for the alcohol industry professionals took place. The exhibition was organized by the Moscow representation of Irish Food Board, Bord Bia, with the assistance of the International Center of Wine and Gastronomy.

The solemn event was opened by the Irish Ambassador to Russia, His Excellency Ambassador Adrian McDaid, who greeted the audience. The moderator of the event, the President of the ICWAG Leonid Gelibterman continued the ceremony and presented the Irish exhibitors to the visitors.

The exhibition was attended by nine Irish producers of whiskey, gin, liqueurs, cider and beer, including companies:

• Mor;

• The Shed Distillery;

• Listoke Distillery & Gin School;

• St. Patrick's Distillery;

• Dingle Distillery;

• Avondhu;

• Boann Distillery;

• Barr an Uisce;

• Teeling.

Representatives of the factories held a professional tasting of the drinks and told about the features of their products. Guests of the event, in their turn, highly appreciated the quality of alcohol brands, presented at the exhibition.

Irina Godunova, the candidate of biological Sciences, member of Russian Sommelier Association, shared her impressions of the presentation:

«We really want to be friends with Ireland! They are very beautiful! Northern, but totally green country. And very tasty! The country produces food much more than needed for themselves. Hoofed animals are more than people. Therefore, dairy products are presented in some incredible quantities and diversity. There are even dairy alcoholic beverages. For example, Irish Cream. Special talented cows give him milk with great fat content.

Grain is not a problem for whiskey. Corn, despite the latitude, feels itself fine, not to mention wheat and barley. And potatoes.... What only do they not do with it in Ireland! The juniper has its own role. The days when it was only used as a medicinal plant are gone.

Many thanks to the organizers! There is very pleasant experience from the communication to our Irish friends, and unusual for my tastes. And then is always the wine...the wine...».

Distributors, who visited the exhibition and who will conclude contracts with the suppliers of Irish beverage will be invited by manufacturers for free visit new distilleries in Ireland.
